“I wish people knew how honored our team is to be able to take care of them. To allow us into their lives at such a sensitive time. How all of us constantly think about them and how we can make each day their very best.”
Where is your hometown?
Beautiful Beaufort, SC. I am a real local, fifth-generation Lowcountry girl!

Two – Kay and Haiden. They make the sixth-generation of Lowcountry natives.
How long have you worked at HCL?
5 years.
What was your job prior to HCL?
Clinical Research Nurse in Neurology.
What is your most memorable moment with HCL?
Definitely when we all got together to help a young patient get married. All of our team helped to donate, including the wedding bands and a beautiful wedding cake.
Who is your most memorable patient?
I have so many! I learn something new from all of our patients and their families. Each one holds a special place in my heart.
What have you learned in your experience with hospice?
Don’t wait until you are dying to say “I love you” or “I’m sorry”. Let people know what they mean to you. Say thank you. Sit and listen to those stories people want to share with you.
Have you or your family been personally affected by hospice?
Being from a small town, I have had the pleasure of taking care of many loved ones. My grandmother was on hospice for a full year before her death. It was a beautiful experience.
What do you wish people knew about HCL?
I wish people knew how honored our team is to be able to take care of them. To allow us into their lives at such a sensitive time. How all of us constantly think about them and how we can make each day their very best.
How has working with HCL changed your outlook on life?
I am much more patient and strive to make every day count. To be more kind. Give that compliment, smile more, and make everyone feel that they are loved and appreciated!
What is your most irrational fear?
Dolphins! They are beautiful and majestic. I enjoy them from a VERY safe distance.
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Definitely my dog, Dezy. Even on my worst days, he’s still excited to see me.
What would you want your last words to be?
“I LOVE YOU.” Never in my life has there been a more important phrase.
